Dear Friends of OBX Room In The Inn,

We just finished our 17th year of food, shelter, and clothing for those in need.  With the help of Nags Head Church, the shelter was deep cleaned and returned to our landlord Jim Rose April 30.  We can't express how thankful we are to them.

By the numbers for the months of November through April, we have provided 2164 room nights, 6492 meals, and the average age was 49. That is a 25% increase over last year's data. The year around our intake center is open to provide food and clothing, along with support services.

April was Volunteer Appreciation Month—a time to recognize the extraordinary generosity that fuels our mission every day. Over the past six months, volunteers have contributed to meals, supplies, transportation, and support. Their compassion and care are at the very heart of Room In The Inn's story—a story that started with a community that refused to turn its back on neighbors in need of food and shelter.

Twenty-Three churches across the Outer Banks made our mission possible this year. During April Roanoke Island Presbyterian, Colington UMC, Manteo Baptist and Cape Hatteras Baptist (all the way from Frisco!) provided food and supplies. Thank you to those churches and Clarks Bethel Methodist Church (all the way from Salvo!), Kitty Hawk Baptist, Kitty Hawk UMC, Nags Head Church, St. Andrews by the Sea, Duck Church, Grace Lutheran, Liberty Christian Church, Son Rise Church of Christ, Manteo First Assembly, Holy Redeemer by the Sea, Mount Olivet United Methodist, All Saints Episcopal, Outer Banks Presbyterian, Bethany United Methodist, Bethany Church of Wanchese, Light House Christian Fellowship, Corolla Chapel and Wanchese Assembly for blessing those in need and OBX RITI this last six months with food and supplies. There is no way we could do this without the churches of the OBX. Numerous businesses and individuals, Pigman's BBQ, Suzie and Joe Trainer, John and Julia Head, Gail Hutchison, Cathy and Dan Turner, Chris and John Cimko, Pathways to Life crew, Outer Banks Hospital, Lynn Serman, Brannon and Leslie Godfrey, Randy Jones, Wes Stepp (Red Sky and NC Coast) and others that filled the needs.

April 25th, at the Hilton Garden Inn we hosted our third annual "Seaside Soirée 2026-Fund the Need" silent and live auction. Sponsored by the Jane Webster, Evans Family Fund, and Orca Wealth Management LLC. Our thanks to them and Mixin Mike, Greg Smrdel, George and Anna McCollough, and Heavenly Honey for their support. Nearly 200 local businesses and individuals donated items to make this possible, and the many people who purchased tickets and items. We are in awe of the support and commitment to helping those in need on the OBX. Special thanks to the Outer Banks Woman's Club and Kitty Hawk Rotary for the help they have given us at this event and during the year.

Most importantly, 12 guests were rehoused this year! That is a record for us. The Outer Banks Community Foundation awarded us a grant that made paying deposits, first and last month's rent to get our guests into stable housing possible. Thank you to every person/owner/landlord who helped us make this happen. God is Good!

Together, we can create solutions to help those in need. If you or your church might be interested in supporting the efforts, please check us out on our website www.obxroomintheinn.org, respond to this email or call 252-255-1133 for more information and join us!
